I was looking through the Cristian furniture catalogue for an upcoming hotel project today and spent far too much time on the task of picking out beds and bedding because of the overwhelming beauty and intrigue behind the props in the catalogue. The creative director for Cristian gets two thumbs up for having amazing furniture and for making their show spaces vibrant and fresh in a way I have yet to see. I was frustrated though to be unable to find their website… is it possible that such a great company has yet to have a domain? If I find it I will surely update this post. (Update: www.cristiansrl.it it is still under construction and doesnt show their furntiure line just yet)
The art work in these spaces is to die for! After a bit of a search I managed to find more information about one of the artists; Rabarama (alias: Paola Epifani), an exciting new talent out of Padua Italy. Her sculptures and paintings of the human form suggest strong emotion and internal reflection. I love the geometry of the forms juxtaposed with the smooth lines of the human body. Rabarama explores the relationship between cause and effect forming a distinctive program or pattern. Her subject is formed together through a puzzle of space and time, inner and outer being. The combination of strength and vulnerability is excellently balanced within each of her pieces. Rabarama has an distinct understanding of the human form and its personal expression. These pieces would be an incredible inspiration for Cirque du Soliel costumes or even for dramatic couture or stage makeup. The creative posibilities are endless.
Enjoy Rabaramas sculptures exhibited at numerous galleries and public art throughout Italy!
