VG NEWTREND Lighting

I am still head over heels for the stunning artistry of Vincenzo and Marllena of VG NEW TREND. Their products are so refined and sophisticated. Unlike most Italian companies I find these products are very well presented with rich photography and backdrops, and from what I have seen of images of their stores every last detail of presentation has been considered. The VG of VG NEWTREND stands for Vanin Giancarlo Spa, an Italian company with years of experience and discernment in interior decor. The company is well known in national and international markets for the attention it pays to detail. The VG NEWTREND collection includes furnishing, luxury accessories, lighting and objects made of fine metals, resins, glasses, ceramics and exotic woods. VGNEWTRENDS’ aim is to create visually striking environments which incorporate influences and hints of different worlds and cultures.

I would love to see these light fixtures and chandeliers in luxury hotels, retail stores and restaurants… the mood and quality they exude would perfectly showcase a high end brand. I can imagine a hallway with the hanging wall sconces as the only lighting with rich materials and textures. the amoebic forms of these sea creature like floor lamps would be stunning in a lobby or even under a grand staircase.

Art direction for the company has come from Vincenzo Antonuccio and Marllena Calbini who started up the Scuola d’Arte Floreal Laboratorio Idee a school that teaches the art of flower arranging.

Here are some amazing examples of their floral arrangements that I could imagine in high profile spaces, luxury getaways and dramatic weddings. I love the way they present each flower and use the vase or base as a creative element that goes with the flowers rather than being a separate element. The photography of their products is truly gorgeous!

Eclectic decor with texture

Eclectic home decor is about showcasing ones unique experiences, travels and individual tastes. Home accessories, lighting and furniture tell the story of ones character. Utilizing personal experiences can create emotional and physical reactions to ones surroundings by stimulating the senses with smells, textures and images of past experiences. Eclectic accessories bring color, texture and form to a space and create visual interest. Eclectic decor in a home is often as complex as a couples marriage- tying two distinctively different peoples favorite styles and experiences into a seamless expression. Art can be a great way to showcase a family’s individuality while adding texture and color. Often it is great to keep a storage room with extra items so the home can have items and paintings circulated through the seasons to keep the house alive and ever changing. This is also a great way to keep ones self from becoming bored with their interior and personal effects. Keep a tickle trunk with throws, pillows, vases and candles to make quick scenery changes in any room to upgrade or simplify your space for guests or downtime.

Yellow is one of my favorite colors. By pairing it with different colors, it can take on a thousand lives. It can be combined with orange, pink or turquoise to become a loud and vibrant palate! Linked with black & white you can make a strong and crisp statement. Cuddled between sky blue and pale green, it is the ideal palette for a baby shower. This season I am seeing a lot of yellow and grey mixed together. It’s somewhat of an unlikely pairing, but is really attractive and especially beautiful for residential applications. Grey is a great neutral backdrop that gives you the opportunity to change up your pop colors seasonally.

Summer is almost here and I cannot wait to throw on my Louboutin sandals and head down to the beach. have a nice little vacation at your beach house with some fresh and vibrant orange accents. This color can stimulate your senses and take you into a whole new oasis of fun and vibrant relaxation.

Make sure to put your Chihuly creation is an openly visible and childproof spot with great dramatic lighting. Consider having a wall niche or mantle with MR16 fixtures illuminating it from an angle. This will provide great drama and reflection. Having it located in a niche will provide a frame around the piece to draw the viewers attention to the sculpture regardless of size.

Purple and Violet colours of femininity, strength and power.

Purple induces sleep and relaxation, lowers body temperature and decreases sensitivity to pain. It symbolizes dignity, royalty and ritual. Its best use is in areas of rest, relaxation and meditation like a spa, yoga studio or bedroom.

Violet can sooth serious mental conditions, over-excitement and over-stimulation restoring peace and calm and inducing deep relaxed sleep. Violet symbolizes humility, creativity, imagination and spiritual enlightenment. This color is best in areas of quiet thoughtful activity like a craft studio or reading space.

Yellow Color Scheme and Home Decor

Yellow is the warm color of sunshine, summer and freshness. It stimulates mental and physical activity, memory, cheerfulness and attention. Yellow is a color of dominance and does not occur for long periods of time in Nature. It has been proven that in large quantities such as painted wall sin a room yellow can make babies cry or cause inmates to start riots. Consider using it sparingly and not in permanent forms. Consider art work, fresh fruit, pillows, and furniture good strong elements to bring in a touch of this fresh and exciting color. This color can speed your metabolism- which is why it is often the color seen in signs for “fast food”. It is great for any rooms that need to provoke stimulation and heavy thought processes such as kitchens and studies.

RED Color Scheme

The emotionally intense color red in North America positively evokes thoughts of joy, celebration, passion, lust, love and romance. This color can fight with itself between representing rage and anger to willpower and courage. It is North America’s second favorite color- the first being blue. It can stimulate the appetite which is why many restaurant designers include red elements in their designs. Red is the color most easily recognized by the human eye making it great for signage or standing out in a crowd. When it comes to color theory in Interior Design and decorating red is your number one knock out!
